connected regions were not being properly counted for the great flood... should be fixed for next game >_> it was a dumb typo in the code.

ALSO: new things are in place already for next game (and reflected on your My Score page as if they were true this game, but in fact are not):

* soldier maintenance has been changed! rather than 3, 4 and 5 food, for level-1, -2, and -3 soldiers respectively, the cost is now 3 food, 3 food and 1 gold, 3 food and 2 gold. if you don't have enough gold to pay the the level-2 or -3 soldiers, they are automatically demoted to level-1 soldiers.

* tower scoring has been changed! 25 points per level, rather than 10.

* tower _building_ has been changed. towers that get excessively tall and thin cannot be built on to further until the lower-levels are strengthened. I'll probably have to tweak with this once the game is running again and I can test it directly.

* you can now build 40 houses (supporting 200 people) before you have to build the aqueduct.

fixed holy land miscounting

also, changes for next game (which I'll work on tomorrow, during the day of rest):

* pop limit w/o aqueduct will be raised to 200
* soldiers upkeep costs will change: 3 food for level-1, 3 food and 1 gold for level-2, and 3 food and 2 gold for level-3. soldiers which want gold but don't get enough will be reduced to level-1 soldiers.

changed lightning

I've lessened the damage of lightning _by a lot_. I'll update the FAQ when I get home from work - but basically it now hits and destroys completely the top 1, 2, or occasionally even 3 levels of the tower (the chance of 3 is less common than 1 or 2 alone). This should let us build the bases of our towers secure in the knowledge that they won't fall down :)

I do want to say - regarding those thin-thin towers - that I will at some point in the future restrict tower building such that you have to expand your base to a certain degree before more height can be obtained...

military actions!

instead of costing 10gold, you can now only take one military action per turn.

This makes gold rather useless >_> so I may try to think of some other way to use it. Maybe more buildings will cost gold to upgrade, or perhaps only soldiers should cost gold to upgrade... maybe gold should be worth points at the end. I dunno. discuss :P

for now I go to work :)

I had to reset the game again... it didn't work the last time - new capital regions were not created (we started without a capital!), I noticed that I had to create the new forum manually, and survivor groups were not being properly cleared.

it's all been fixed, and the game reset... so... your first day's progress is lost - not that anything happened that day anyway :P sorry about that! looks like it's working now.
